2nd GeoFest held at UNICS Center

The festival, organized by KFU and Russian Geographical Society, took place in the evening of 2 June and comprised 10 lectures and 17 interactive booths and stands.

The event was visited by President of KFU Riyaz Minzaripov, Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences Danis Nurgaliev, Minister of Forestry of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov, Chairman of the Tatarstan Branch of the Russian Geographical Society Dmitry Shiller, and other local officials.

Among the lecture topics were myths and realities of climate change, urbanization, water bodies of Kazan, space geography, recreational tourism, and many more.

The booths and master classes comprised digital cartography in ArcGIS and FlexGIS, aerial drones, local aquatic and terrestrial fauna, and popular astronomy.
