Big concert for freshmen held in Universiade Village on Knowledge Day

As usual, the event took place outdoors. A packed program awaited the students, from meeting their classmates and receiving their student ID cards to enjoying performances by KFU arts collectives.

Before the official concert, the hosts and animation team led interactive sessions with the participants. The diversity of the vast university family was vividly demonstrated, and engaging stories from graduates and senior students were also shared. The event also included a parade of university flags.

Rector Lenar Safin; Hero of the Russian Federation, Colonel General Alexander Lapin; Hero of Russia, Director of the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Boiko; VTB Bank Manager in Tatarstan Maryam Davletshina, vice-rectors, and directors of KFU institutes came to support the general spirit and congratulate the new students. Representatives of the province’s leadership were represented at the celebration by Deputy Head of the Office of the Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan Ruslan Mukharlyamov and Aide to ther Rais, Chairman of the Council of the Regional Organization Movement of the First, Timur Suleimanov.

“September 1st is a joyful holiday. It symbolizes a new stage in life, especially for first-year students, of whom almost 13,000 joined us this year. And I am immensely pleased that you have chosen KFU for admission,” the Rector said. “Rest assured, this decision is the right step on the path to success! Unlimited opportunities for study, research, self-development, and creativity will open up before you. Kazan University is also my alma mater. Here I took my first steps as a teacher and researcher, learned my profession, and made lifelong friends. I hope your student life will also be vibrant and fulfilling. Welcome to Kazan Federal University!”

Next, Lenar Safin presented student ID cards, record books, and souvenirs to the first-year students – winners and runners-up of All-Russian School Olympiads and those with high Unified State Exam scores. Short speeches by freshmen then followed.
