Expo of architectural projects of students from OIC countries opened at KazanForum 2025

The exposition of student projects is held within the framework of the International Islamic Symposium on the Architectural Environment (IBEIS). It is an important international platform for sharing experience, discussing current problems and finding innovative solutions in sustainable architecture and urban planning in the Islamic world.

The exhibition was organized by the Institute of Design and Spatial Arts of Kazan Federal University together with the International Islamic University of Malaysia.

In total, over 500 works were submitted for participation. The exhibition features 50 projects by students from leading universities of Russia, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, India, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Iran, Syria, Egypt, and Brazil. They reflect a bold vision of the future of architecture, the desire to create a sustainable, harmonious and inclusive living environment that preserves the values of each nation’s culture.

The exhibition showcases innovative concepts in sustainable architecture and urban planning. The tablets present architectural projects of residential and public buildings, religious buildings, landscaping, branding of territories and event design, restoration projects, graphic embodiment of cultural heritage objects.

In the course of communication with journalists the representative of the International Islamic University in Malaysia Shaiful Nizam Suhaimi noted the importance of collaboration with Kazan Federal University.

According to Rishat Guzeirov, Vice-Rector for Comprehensive Security of KFU, who opened today’s event, the closest ever relations between Russia and Malaysia are shaping up now.

Speaking to his colleagues from Malaysia, Guzeirov recalled that Kazan University recently celebrated its 220th anniversary, and the forum is being held on the territory of the millennial city.

The event continued with the session “Trends in Architectural Education”.
