International Student Week set from 13 to 17 February
A series of events is scheduled for the next week at KFU.
Of the current student body of 52,000 students, there are 11,572 foreign nationals from 101 countries.
The International Student Week was conceived by the Institute of International Relations and involves KFU’s International Office, Preparatory School, International Friendship Club, Student Science Club Polymirie (Multi-World), and the Association of International Students of the Institute of International Relations (AISIIR).
The schedule is as follows:
- 13 February, 10:30 – presentations of clubs and collectives aimed at international students;
- 14 February – meeting with Consul General of Kazakhstan in Kazan Yerlan Iskakov;
- 14 February – contest in Russian as a foreign language;
- 14 February – museum quest at the History Museum;
- 14 February – Zoom meeting with the Russian House in Mongolia;
- 15 February, 10:30 – meeting with Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Kazan Ismet Erikan;
- 15 February, 13:30 – ‘Kazan in the lives of Kazakhs’, a lecture by Sabira Sayfulmalikova (Kazakh State Pedagogical University);
- 15 February, 15:30 – ‘Uzbekistan – the pearl of Central Asia’, a lecture by Consul General of Uzbekistan in Kazan Fariddin Nasriev;
- 15 February, 17:30 – COOL Tour quest about indigenous peoples of Russia;
- 16 February, 14:00 – opening ceremony of KFU’s Center for Latin American Culture with Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Russia Rodrigo de Lima Baena Soares;
- 16 February, 16:00 – open lessons of foreign languages (Chinese, French, Farsi, Turkish, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, Russian as a foreign language);
- 17 February, 13:30 – open day of the Preparatory School;
- 17 February, 14:00 – IMOtryoshka, an educational project about Russian culture;
- 17 February, 15:00 – Welcome Day for prospective enrollees from Kyrgyzstan (Zoom meeting).
