4th Youth Scientific Congress of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation wrapped up

The large-scale event brought together more than 100 young researchers from 20 countries, including representatives from Africa, the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, and Russia. The main outcome for congress participants was the awarding of KFU certificates granting priority consideration for admission to the university’s master’s or PhD research programs.
The congress program covered five tracks: Biomedicine and Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Solutions in Education, Contemporary International Relations and International Law, Architecture, Design and Art, and Environmental Sustainability. Discussions were hosted by the university’s relevant academic units: the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology, the Institute of Psychology and Education, the Institute of International Relations, the Institute of Design and Spatial Arts, and the Institute of Ecology, Biotechnology and Nature Management.
During the congress, participants not only presented their research to an expert jury but also took part in an intensive project-development program. The young researchers developed practical solutions to pressing challenges in their fields. Presenting their projects to experts enabled them to receive valuable professional feedback and refine their proposals.
The evaluation panel consisted of staff members from KFU’s institutes and invited industry experts. Following the project presentations, the panel selected the most promising proposals and awarded commemorative prizes to their authors.
The highest honour for the young researchers was a personalized certificate. Certificate holders will have the opportunity to enrol in KFU’s master’s or postgraduate research programmes, opening up new avenues for scientific careers in Russia.
Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev emphasized the strategic importance of such events, “One of our most important goals is to attract talented young people. We want our guests to leave with a positive impression of Russia and Kazan Federal University, and for each of them to feel motivated to return. We aim to encourage participants to consider KFU as a place to continue their education and build their scientific careers. I am confident that many will stay in touch with us and that, in the near future, we will see the results of our international scientific cooperation.”
The congress’s extensive scientific program was complemented by cultural and educational activities. The young researchers visited the Lobachevsky Lyceum, where they learned about its traditions of secondary education, explored the university’s rich history at the History Museum, and visited the KFU Planetarium.
The congress was held with the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russia–Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, and the Academy of Youth Diplomacy.
