Educational cooperation discussed at ROSTKI Russia-China Forum 2026

The session was organized by Kazan Federal University on 17th August.

Aide to the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Albert Gilmutdinov and Vice-Rector for International Affairs of KFU Timirkhan Alishev gave comments to the media. Among other things, Dr Gilmutdinov mentioned the upcoming opening of CRUTech, China-Russia University of Advanced Technologies, the first project of its kind in bilateral cooperation, headed by Kazan Federal University and Shandong University.

Dr Alishev said that Chinese students now comprise 15 percent of all international students in Russia, as opposed to 5 percent in 2016. Conversely, 20 thousand Russian students now study in China.

During the session itself, moderated by Vice-Rector Alishev, the participants talked about joint laboratories and research centers, potential new cooperation projects, technological challenges of the future, and much more.
