KFU holding 11th International Forum on Teacher Education on 30 and 31 May

The tagline is Modern Pedagogical Education in International, National and Regional Dimensions: Dialogue between Russia, China, and Uzbekistan.

The organizers are Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Kazan Federal University, Russian Academy of Education, Northeast Normal University (China), Liaoning Normal University (China), Samarkand State University (Uzbekistan), Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages (Uzbekistan), Shakhrisabz State Pedagogical Institute (Uzbekistan), and Kary-Niazi National Institute of Pedagogical Education (Uzbekistan).

The event will be a platform for discussing current and potential international research projects in teacher education, as well as presenting research results in teacher training, practices to exchange experiences and opinions, and improve the educational process.

“Last year we successfully held the tenth forum, which again became one of the largest events in its field in our country. Then it was decided that the eleventh IFTE will be held in the format of coordination meetings. In this way, we will create a system typical for world conferences, when large events are held one year and smaller ones the next. IFTE-2025 will gather more than 200 participants from dozens of Russian universities and, most importantly, foreign scientists from China, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and others. This is extremely significant in today’s conditions. Foreign colleagues are interested in the reforms taking place in the system of Russian pedagogical education, and the case of Kazan University in teacher training is still relevant. The point is that in a few years we have been able to build a highly effective system of teacher education, which has been internationally recognized in rankings: KFU is among the top 100 universities in the world according to THE and QS. This year in one of the most authoritative QS ratings we are ranked 94th and 2nd in Russia, in RAEX in the subject area Pedagogy we are ranked 4th, which together speaks of the competitiveness and recognition of our model not only at the Russian, but also at the international level,” Director of the Institute of Psychology and Education Aidar Kalimullin says.

The program of the forum in Kazan includes two main topics: Global Education: Comparative Research in Teacher Training and Teacher Training for Sustainable Development of Countries.

The geographical scope of IFTE is expanding. On 3 – 5 June, the event is going to be continued in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

“Holding the event in Uzbekistan will allow colleagues not only to tell about the developments, the model of teacher education of Kazan Federal University, but also to learn about the processes taking place now in Central Asia, which is experiencing a huge educational boom, when new higher education institutions are being built and opened, and teacher education is under the closest attention of the government. I hope that holding IFTE – 2025: Uzbekistan will become an important event in the development of Russian-Uzbekistani cooperation in education and science,” Dr Kalimullin adds.

There is also a technical innovation this time. This year the organizers are using the tri-language AI simultaneous translation system among Russian, English, and Chinese for the first time.

The forum partner is the Federal Educational and Methodological Association in Education and Pedagogical Sciences.
