Scientific conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese people’s war of resistance against Japanese invaders and the world anti-fascist war held at the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Kazan

The event brought together leading scientists, historians, experts and veterans interested in studying and understanding this important period of world history.

The conference was opened by the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kazan Xiang Bo, who emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and strengthening cooperation between peoples in the struggle for peace and justice.

Rail Fakhrutdinov, Director of the Institute of International Relations, History and Eastern Studies, dedicated his speech to the historical heritage and the importance of maintaining good-neighborly and friendly relations with China.

“The basis of the unique relations between the two great states is the history of joint opposition to fascism and militarism. The nations that suffered the greatest human losses in the war against the invaders will never accept attempts to distort the historical truth, to obscure or overestimate the role of individual states in inciting war, the desire to enslave others for the sake of an inhuman ideology of racial and cultural superiority,” he said.

Professor Dmitry Martynov made a report in which he analyzed the importance of preserving historical facts and preventing the distortion of reality.

Director of the KFU Confucius Institute (Kazan side) Yelena Nesterenko emphasized the meaning of cultural exchange and mutual understanding between peoples in the context of preserving historical memory.

The conference became an important platform for exchanging opinions, discussing new research and strengthening scientific cooperation.
