KFU represented at China Education Expo in Beijing
More than 50 universities from around the world are participating in the event, which is taking place from October 30 to November 1. The Russian Federation is represented by the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office and a number of leading universities.
KFU participants include Nail Safin, Head of International Admissions Unit; Aigul Khisamova, Lead Specialist of said unit; and Aisulu Amurgusheva, Chief Specialist of the International Office.
“We see great interest in studying in Russia among Chinese applicants, as well as in cooperation on academic exchanges and joint educational programs among Chinese universities and schools teaching Russian. The greatest interest is in the areas of digital technology, philology, and oil and gas,” noted Safin.
The exhibition kicked off with the Day of Russian Universities, held at the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing. Presentations by Russian and Chinese educational institutions took place both in person and via online broadcast. The parties exchanged views on developing current cooperation and exploring promising areas.
Kazan University’s stand included graduates of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication at Kazan Federal University: Wu Juanjuan, Tang Qiongqiong, Wang Xinjie, Cheng Yiran, and doctoral student He Yuan.
“Chinese students and their parents are an incredibly motivated audience. They come prepared with lists of questions. The graduates shared their personal experiences of applying to and studying at our university,” said Amurgusheva.
More than 35,000 people are expected to attend the event.
It’s worth noting that Kazan Federal University actively collaborates with the People’s Republic of China. Currently, approximately 2,500 Chinese citizens are studying at the university, and 70 agreements and memorandums of understanding are in effect with Chinese institutions. These agreements are implemented through joint research, educational programs, and exchange programs.
