Rector Lenar Safin: «Preparations for the 220th anniversary are progressing in line with the approved comprehensive plan»

Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valery Falkov helmed a meeting of the anniversary organizing committee in the Main Building’s Green Room.

The event was joined by Deputy Minister Airat Gatiyatov, Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma for Control Oleg Morozov, Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Roman Shaikhutdinov, Minister of Education and Science of Tatarstan Ilsur Khadiullin, President of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences Rifkat Minnikhanov, President of KFU Riyaz Minzaripov, and others.

Rector Safin spoke about the anniversary preparations – of the 330 planned events many are already in action.

In particular, workgroups have been established, a KFU brand book was renewed for the 220th anniversary, a documentary about KFU is being filmed, and submissions are being prepared to award employees and students.

“Over the years of its development Kazan University has traveled a difficult but worthy path and has become one of the leading universities in the country. Today, all our efforts are aimed at improving the quality of Russian education, implementing scientific and technological initiatives, preserving national identity and protecting traditional values, fostering patriotism and civil responsibility among young people. I am confident that today’s students will become outstanding personalities in the future,” said the Rector.

Valery Falkov spoke about the past two centuries, “Over these years, KFU has traveled an impressive path – it is one of the leading universities in the country, has formed a strong community of professionals and actively participates in large-scale national projects. The university leaders and staff have made an invaluable contribution to the development of higher education and science.”

The Minister then proceeded to confer awards to vice-rectors, institute directors, and other KFU employees. Rector Safin was given a commendation letter from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

In his turn, the Rector gave a money certificate to Almira Bayanova, Senior Lecturer of Department of Pedagogy.
