Discovering the World of Science Festival opened in UNICS

The traditional event caters to freshmen and helps them to find out about KFU’s multifaceted research capabilities.

First Vice-Rector Dmitry Tayursky addressed the visitors and said that this is the third such event.

Among the booths, the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies offered the attendees to determine minerals. The Institute of Social and Philosophical Sciences presented its PhD student research club.

The Institute of Physics, represented by senior student Berkant Nazarov, showed handmade drones.

The Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology taught everyone the basics of first aid.

Chemistry freshman Darya Kameneva shared, “This is a wonderful festival, and I am elated! All the tasks and booths were interesting. My favorite was that of the Institute of Chemistry where one could try to ‘build’ molecules. I also was able to ‘save’ a test subject at the first aid booth.”

At the festival, there were also quests, trivia quizzes, and science battles between student clubs.

The 2nd award cerermony for student science clubs then followed. Vice-Rector Tayursky also gave out diplomas to best educators-curators and freshmen – winners of high school contests.

Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Moral Education Arif Mezhvedilov presented the Association of Student Science Clubs and awarded its best performers.
