Innovative pharmaceutical product proves effective in treating non-healing wounds in felines

Open Lab Gene and Cell Technologies has presented its new research.

Lead Research Associate Yelena Zakirova commented, “Our lab has created a new genetic plasmid compound which stimulates the production of family-specific proteins in felines and thus accelerates regeneration of skin, muscle, and tendon tissue. We used the genes of fibroblast growth factors and vascular endothelial growth factors.”

The product has completed preclinical and clinical trials and is now ready for patent procedures.

“Earlier, we developed and patented similar injection compounds for persisting wounds in horses and dogs. They have already proven their effectiveness and are used by veterinarians. All genetic medications use approximately the same scheme because animals have similar regeneration mechanisms,” says the scientist.

Lab employees are currently seeking to create a regeneration compound for humans.
