Kazan University to launch student entrepreneurship accelerator

The platform is supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.

Students of all years and programs can join the program to accelerate their business ideas, communicate with practicing businesspersons, and produce a packed project ready for pitching.

Among KFU’s partners in the accelerator are local powerhouses KAMAZ, Tatarstan Petrochemical Investment Holding, Idea Technology Park, Neurotrend JSC, and others.

The University also has an in-house Startup Methodology Center to help students and employees develop their entrepreneurial skills. The main focus is on student entrepreneurship. One of the key initiatives is Startup as Diploma, a project allowing students to present their startup ideas in lieu of graduation thesis. Many students have already successfully used this opportunity and obtained funding for their projects.

Apart from this, one of the general courses for KFU students is called Innovation Economics and Technological Entrepreneurship. The course is concentrated on customer development, lean startups, and agile. Over 10 thousand students join every year. Among our talented young people, 23 have already become winners of the Student Startup competition, receiving 1 million rubles in funding each. 112 more application have been made for the second season, with results to be announced later in September.
