KFU student to represent Russia at Miss Global pageant

Sophomore student of philology Alina Garaeva is going to Bali, Indonesia, on 11 June, to become the only contestant from Russia.

This year, over 70 countries will dispatch young women to partake in Miss Global. Two online stages have already taken place – self-introduction and online conference. The on-site stage in Indonesia includes runway walks in national costume, evening gown, and swimsuit.

Alina Garaeva has partaken in talent pageants since 17 years of age. She has won such competitions as Beauty of Tatarstan, Miss Planet Russia, and Miss Asia Russia, as well as second place in Miss Russia. She was personally invited to join Miss Global because of her victorious track record.

As for the national costume, Garaeva has already made her choice from one of the renowned local designers.

Alina is not afraid of competition,

“In my experience, all contestants are kind-hearted and ready to help each other. I have never felt any pressure in this regard. Despite the uneasy political situation, I am convinced that everything will go well. Talent pageants should remain out of politics.”

For her major, the heroine is studying teacher education of English language. She is already thinking about enrolling in a master course,

“I like growing in different directions, and my institute is of great help in that. I really do what I genuinely like, and that’s why I am satisfied with my studies.”
