Rector holds acquaintance meeting with Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kazan Xiang Bo
The Consul and his colleagues visited on 23 November.
Rector Lenar Safin wished Xiang Bo success in his new position and mentioned that China is a key strategic partner for the University.
“We can confirm that there is a growing interest towards each other’s language, history and culture between our peoples, including the younger generations,” said the Rector.
As of now, KFU has 19 institutional partners in China. There is ongoing cooperation within the Volga-Yangtze Association of Universities; this year’s forum of the Association will take place on 22 and 23 December.
Just during this admission season KFU welcomed 605 Chinese freshmen; there are over 1,600 students from the People’s Republic in total. This makes the University third in Russia by the number of Chinese students. Confucius Institute has been working at KFU since 2007 in partnership with Hunan Normal University.
The two sides also exchanged opinions on new prospective ties with Shandong University.
