Rector Lenar Safin: “Our Jizzakh Branch should become a place of new research projects in IT”

On April 18, the first Uzbekistani Republican Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Modern Problems of Intelligent Systems’ started in Jizzakh on the premises of the KFU branch.
Rector Lenar Safin addressed the participants and guests of the event with a welcoming speech. He emphasized that this significant event not only opens a new page in the scientific and educational life of the branch, but also makes a certain contribution to the development of scientific and intellectual potential of the whole university.
“We are glad that the branch has become a platform for discussing scientific and practical aspects of creating intelligent systems for various spheres of activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan. After all, the development of information technologies and computer sciences, their application in various industries are among our most important directions,” the Rector said.
He also reminded that the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Information Technologies and the Institute of Information Technologies and Intelligent Systems operate. And last year it was decided to unite in one division all the topics related to artificial intelligence. This is how the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Systems Engineering appeared, where today unique technologies for creating unmanned vehicles are being created and developed.
“In these institutes, students from Uzbekistan, of whom there are more than 2,000 at KFU today, study and engage in scientific activities. In our branch in Jizzakh, the area of information systems and technologies is also actively developing. Soon we expect the first graduation. Therefore, it is very important that it becomes a center of attraction in this matter and initiated the conference, which, I hope, will become traditional,” Lenar Safin said.
In conclusion, the Rector toured the local admissions office and discussed the upcoming admission season.
