Student job squads working in all corners of Russia

This summer break season, 270 students of Kazan University have found temporary jobs in Tatarstan and other provinces.

In particular, two squads voyaged to Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug to partake in Gazprom’s construction projects.

“We’ve been here for two months. We have been working since July 1 as auxiliary workers. We are engaged in dumping and transportation of sand and gravel, as well as pouring concrete – we are making a blind area for the building of the future compressor station,” says squad leader Alexander Yasakov. “In total, more than 80 students from all over the country work at the construction site. After a hard day, we communicate, organize interesting events. Tomorrow we will have a poster contest, and on Sunday there will be a volleyball tournament.”

Five pedagogical teams of KFU work in children’s health camps. Two squads went to summer camps in Leninogorsk and Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan. Three more – to the camps of Krasnodar Krai on the Black Sea.

Krasnodar Krai also welcomed two service squads, working as waiters, hotel maids, and chef assistants in local hotels.

Finally, three more squads are employed as train conductors.

In September, a special award ceremony will be held at the university for best performers of the summer job season, including such nominations as Best Squad Leader, Best Squad Commissar, Best Worker, and Best Overall Squad.
