Student Squad movement closes 2023 season

A traditional celebratory event was held at UNICS on 20 October.

During the 2023 summer season, 13 squads comprising 317 students were dispatched for temporary employment to various corners of our vast country, including Krasnodar Krai in the south, Irkutsk Oblast in Siberia, and locally in Tatarstan.

Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Moral Education Arif Mezhvedilov noted, “I’ve been working with students for many years, but it’s rare to see such a joy like one here in the auditorium. We have deep respect for student squads. Thank you very much for your work.”

The Vice-Rector, who himself partook in the movement in his younger years, continued, “The student squads have always been marked by real unity. This is the unity that I am feeling today. Dear students, thank you for remembering history and bringing this work into the future.”

After that, awards in several nominations were given out, including Best Squad, Best Squad Commander, Best Squad Commissioner, Best Squadmates, and Best Pedagogical Methodologist. The Best Squad award went to Volna (Wave), a service industry team.

The evening ended with a concert performance.

This year, the squad movement leaders plan to open a medical team and an all-women construction work squad.
