Student Startup winner to use grant funding for mobile app launch

Student Artur Zabirov will disburse his prize of 1 million rubles to a mobile app for online booking of medical tests; the app should be ready by end of year 2022.

Zabirov is among the 23 winners from Kazan Federal University (of the 650 overall). The Student Startup is organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and the Foundation for Assistance to Innovation.

The winner and his classmate Alim Guliev had come up with the idea just five days before applications for the project closed. They managed to fill in the forms and submit them.

The app, tentatively called ‘Zdorovy.Ya’ (which stands for ‘A healthy I’), is for online booking of visits to various private clinics, “We offer an app to book visits to private clinics and for medical tests without the need for phone calls. The app will have an internal messenger. A patient can choose necessary medical services and register online. Everything is very quick, simple, and easy. You won’t need to use search engines.”

According to Zabirov, the ideas has an immense potential. There are very few competitors in this niche.

The plan is to expand the functionality of the applications, such as including healthy lifestyle tips, step counters, reminders, etc.

“I am convinced that everyone will use our app. The privileges that we plan to provide to patients will be beneficial to everyone and will be an additional motivator,” emphasizes the project lead.

The design assignment is ready, and the prototyping work is ongoing. The app should be launched in November 2022 in Tatarstan.
