Students volunteer in forest cleaning

The initiative is overseen by the Ministry of Forestry of Tatarstan.

The annual action, officially titled Clean Forests of Tatarstan, has been in place since 2010. Its spring period lasts from 18 April to 18 June.

On Saturday, 14 May, the volunteers conducted cleanings in all districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. Minister of Forestry Ravil Kuzyurov thanked everyone for the invaluable contribution to environmental protection.

In particular, in Matyushino Forest District near Kazan, over 500 persons collected 15 cubic meters of waste. In Tatarstan, over 2,200 cubic meters of waste were collected, and 2,800 cubic meters of deadwood were stacked in rotting heaps. Apart from that, the forestry industry employees fixed 160 information boards and beautified 9 water springs.

KFU students were very glad to partake in the benefaction and plan to join such events in the future.
