Thermal Methods of Enhanced Oil Recovery 2022 Conference held in Baku, Azerbaijan

The event is scheduled for 3 – 5 November.

This year’s event is co-organized by Azerbaijan State Oil and Industrial University, Kazan Federal University, Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic, and Middle East Technical University.

Kazan University is represented by Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences Danis Nurgaliev and Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering Mikhail Varfolomeev.

At the conference, Kazan University was awarded the Greifer Medal for its contributions to innovation by the Union of Oil and Gas Industrialists of Russia.

Dr. Nurgaliev presented his overview of magnetic methods for the study of in-situ combustion, whereas Dr. Varfolomeev spoke about catalytic aquathermolysis for highly viscous oil deposits.

The 2022 ThEOR conference has gathered over 160 scholars from 10 countries.
