Kazan Federal University

University visited by delegation of Sibur Holding

Cooperation prospects were discussed with the Institute of Chemistry on 16 May.

The guests were accompanied by Director of the Institute of Chemistry Marat Ziganshin and Deputy Director for Cooperation with the Industry Alexander Lamberov.

Dr. Lamberov comments, “Our petrochemical enterprises have had a number of problems because of the sanctions, including a lack of catalysts. We showed the guests our catalytic laboratories and our test production of catalysts. As a result, we agreed to produce three of our modernized catalytic systems. We next plan to sign a cooperation agreement.”

Ivan Menshikov, Head of Projects at NIOST LLC (part of Sibur), opines, “We visited KFU to assess our interaction prospects in developing homemade heterogeneous catalysts. We are content with what we have seen. We see that the university has the necessary capacity to implement such developments.”

Chief of the Technological Department of NKNK Ilyas Misbakhov notes, “We have joint projects in catalysts for monomer production. I had long been invited to visit KFU before I finally arrived. My acquaintance with your labs helped me see our cooperation in a new light. Our objective is to commercialize your developments.”
