KFU opens memorial plaques to Stella Pisareva and Grigory Vulfson

They both were seminal figures in the development of the History Museum. Stella Pisareva (1925 – 2020) was its longtime curator, and Grigory Vulfson (1920 – 2002) served as its scientific supervisor.

The ceremony featured President of KFU Riyaz Minzaripov and Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs Sergey Prokhorov, along with invited guests.

Director of KFU Museums Sergey Galanin spoke about the two honorees’ immense contributions to the development of the museum complex and the university as a whole.

Vice-Rector Prokhorov that the university is first and foremost its people, those are devoted to their profession, earnest in their work, and who love the university.

Vulfson’s memorial plaque commemorates the invaluable contributions of the professor and renowned historian, whose scholarly work spread throughout Russia and abroad, as the scientific supervisor of the Kazan University History Museum and as an active participant in the restoration of the university’s assembly hall (now the Emperor Ballroom). Pisareva’s plaque recognizes her work as a path of dedicated service, a passionate professional, and it’s no wonder that her colleagues called her the legend of the museum profession.
