Delegation of the Republic of Buryatia welcomed at university

A number of officials and educators arrived on April 29 to study the experience of native language studies in Tatarstan.

Among the delegation participants were employees of the Republic of Buryatia’s Center for Development of Buryatian Language, Buryatian State University, Association of Buryatian Language Teachers, secondary schools, and Association of Ethno-Cultural Educational Institutions of Buryatia. They were greeted by the management of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication and the Institute of Psychology and Education.

The guests started with visiting the memorial plaque to Dorzhi Banzarov, first Buryatian classically educated scientist, on the wall of the Lobachevsky Library. The delegation toured the Center for Gadbulla Tukay Studies, EduTech Center, the Department of Design, Ana Tele Online Tatar Language School, and Qayum Nasyri Institute.

The guests were very interested in Ana Tele School and the experience of trilingual Russian-Tatar-English education at local multilingual secondary schools.

“In the course of two days, we cannot cease to be amazed by what is being done in your Republic. We are grateful to KFU for showing its work. It’s a very important meeting for us. We thank Kazan University for preserving the memory if its distinguished alumnus, Dorzhi Banzarov. We wish to continue cooperation,” shared Bair Baldanov, Deputy Director of Buryatia’s Belig Center for the Support of the Studies of Indigenous Languages and Subjects of Ethno-Cultural Sphere.
