Ambassador of Kyrgyz Republic Gulnara-Klara Samat visited Kazan University

She spoke with Rector Ilshat Gafurov.

On April 27, a delegation of Kyrgyz officials arrived, comprising, apart from the ambassador, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Nurlan Omurov, Director of the First Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ulanbek Totuyaev, Deputy Chairman of the State Service of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan Azamat Dyikanbaev, and others.

The guest toured the History Museum and listened to Rector Gafurov’s brief introduction of KFU. The Rector covered education, science and general strategy of the University’s development.

Currently, KFU has 95 Kyrgyzstani nationals enrolled in all types of programs. There are 14 extant agreements on cooperation with the country’s educational and research institutions.

After the meeting, Nurlan Omurov noted, “We’ve marked further paths of interaction between KFU and our universities. The Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Education and Science of Tatarstan will work on a roadmap of such cooperation, including double degrees, joint programs, and research.”

After the negotiations, the sides proceeded to watch “High Ground 144,0”, a documentary film by Kyrgyz director Abdish Ailychiev. The picture describes an episode from the Second World War, when ten Soviet soldiers defended a strategic high ground from the Nazi forces in Latvia in July 1944. After two days of heroic efforts, eight of the servicemen perished, but the enemy’s attack was foiled.
