Kazan University dominates Student of the Year in Tatarstan awards for 2021
The 17th Student of the Year in Tatarstan ceremony took place on Russian Student Day, 25 January, in Kazan.
The two special guests were President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council (Russia’s Senate) Andrey Turchak.
This year, 458 applications from 28 universities were made for the contest’s 18 nominations, including 140 from Kazan Federal University. 66 of the KFU’s submissions made it to the finals, and the University ended up with 10 – more than half – of the prizes.
Here are the individual and team winners from KFU:
Student Sports Club of the Year – Kazan Yulbars;
Intellect of the Year – Anthony Elias Sverdrup, Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology;
Student Science Society of the year – Student Science Society of the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance;
Class President of the Year – Ilzira Galimbikova, Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication;
Dormitory Council of the Year – Council of the 1st Dormitory of the Student City;
International Student of the Year – Komila Kushbaeva, Yelabuga Institute;
Student Media of the Year – Studio Ai, Media Community of the Institute of International Relations;
Student Arts Collective of the Year – Grace (singing collective);
Student Organization of the Year – Financier Club (Institute of Management, Economics and Finance).
