Kazan University establishes cooperation with the city of Dimitrovgrad

The delegation from one of the largest cities of Ulyanovsk Oblast visited on May 14.

The guest team comprised Mayor of Dimitrovgrad Bogdan Pavlenko, Director of the Innovation Development Agency of Ulyanovsk Oblast Albert Gataullin, and others. They were welcomed by Vice-Rector for Innovation Dmitry Pashin and Director of the Kazan University Technology Park Konstantin Kharisov.

Colleagues from Ulyanovsk were one of the first to tour KFU’s newly opened Technology Park, located on the premises of Kazan Expo, a large exhibition center near Kazan Airport. The Park seeks to develop small innovative companies, commercialize KFU’s research, create and promote new goods and services for local and international markets.

Dimitrovgrad is known for its robust research infrastructure, including the Federal Center for High-Tech Medical Radiology, the Center for the Development of Nuclear Innovation Cluster, and some other institutions.

Mayor Pavlenko, in particular, said during the meeting, “Your university is the pride of the whole nation. Thank you for this warm welcome. Our city has something to be proud of, too.”

Vice-Rector Pashin noted, “If you have ideas or developments, we can offer a platform to test the feasibility of such ideas. You can use our resources to check your hypotheses. The university possesses 170 top-notch laboratories, so you won’t have to buy new equipment.”

The sides agreed to outline cooperation areas in the nearest future.
