Kazan University’s Center for Educational Development opens in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

The ceremony took place during Rector Ilshat Gafurov’s visit to the country last week.

The Center is located on the premises of Salymbekov University and has its own classrooms and labs. It will offer programs of various levels.

While addressing President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Founder of Salymbekov University Askar Salymbekov, Rector Gafurov noted, “We started actively working in Kyrgyzstan this year. We partake in educational expos in Bishkek, Osh, and Jalal-Abad. We now have several partner secondary schools. We have just completed a short course of teaching Russian as a foreign language for Kyrgyzstani educators, including employees of Salymbekov University.”

At this moment, KFU and SU are preparing to launch a joint major in program engineering. General medicine courses are also under discussion.

This new Center for Educational Development aims at supporting fundamental and applied research, technological R&D, expert consultancy, analytical work, and teaching. One of the important activities here will be Russian language and law courses for potential labor migrants.
