Cooperation agreement signed with Kazakhstan’s Green Finance Center

A delegation of Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) visited on April 28.

The team comprised General Director of Green Finance Center (GFC) Aydar Kazybaev, General Director of Fintech Hub Ltd. Pavel Koktyshev, Investment Office of GFC Saadat Asanseitova, Head of the Center for Continuous Professional Development Elmira Obry and Supervisor of the AIFC Mariam Osetova.

Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Timirkhan Alishev presented the University and spoke about its cooperation with Kazakhstani colleagues. He mentioned that there are currently 644 Kazakhstani students here, and KFU is interested in increasing this number.

Aydar Kazybaev noted that AIFC is ready to promote projects in green finance, fintech, digitization of education, environment, and staff training. So far, 800 companies have registered at AIFC, which works in accordance with British common law. They need employees with profound knowledge of cryptocurrencies, green tech and Islamic finance.

Green Finance Center has initiated a number of projects in environmental education and nature management. Kazybaev noted that KFU can help in training a new generation of ecologists, IT experts, and Islamic financiers. Vice-Rector Alishev replied that KFU has not yet educated green finance specialists but is ready to launch such a program.

The meeting concluded with a signing of the agreement between Kazan Federal University and AIFC Green Finance Centre Ltd.
