KFU’s branch in Jizzakh discussed during visit to Uzbekistan

The Tatarstani delegation in the neighboring country is headed by Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.

Kazan University is represented by Interim Rector Dmitry Tayursky, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Timirkhan Alishev, Vice-Rector for Construction and Maintenance Lenar Safiullin, and Head of the Department of Real Estate and Land Property Vasily Rylov.

The university management visited Jizzakh Region and met with governor Ergash Saliev on 20 January. The sides discussed the upcoming opening of the Jizzakh Branch of KFU – set for 1 September 2022. The branch will focus on machine building, geology, program engineering, linguistics, IT, economics, and biomedicine. A number of questions were raised at the talks, including educational processes, funding, renovation of buildings, procurement, and lab equipment.

Tomorrow, the delegation plans to meet with Minister of Higher and Vocational Education of Uzbekistan Abdukodir Toshkulov and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov. They will also tour the Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences.
