Meeting with Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Kazem Jalali

The delegation arrived on July 28.

The team also comprises Counsellor of the Embassy for Economy Heydari Bahram, Counsellor of the Embassy for Political Issues Zolfagari Abbas, Vice-Consul of the Consulate General of Iran in Kazan Mollai Masoud and others.

The guests were welcomed by Vice-Rector for Education Timirkhan Alishev, Director of the International Office Olga Vershinina, and Deputy Director for International Cooperation of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology Albina Valeeva.

As usual, the guests were accompanied through the History Museum, the Lenin Memorial Classroom and the Emperor Ballroom.

Later during the talks, Vice-Rector Alishev noted that KFU currently has 102 Iranian nationals enrolled in various programs, of whom 54 individuals study biomedical majors.

He also mentioned KFU’s Center for Iranian Studies, a project supported by the Embassy and by the Saadi Foundation. There is also tight cooperation with Iranian colleagues at the World-Level Research Center in Liquid Hydrocarbons.

Ambassador Jalali replied, “Thank you very much for the hospitality. It’s great that Iranian students choose Kazan University for their education. My colleagues at the Embassy put immense effort into achieving the recognition of your diplomas by our healthcare system. I think there will be more Iranian enrollees in the future.”

The guests then went to see the Center for Iranian Studies at the Institute of International Relations.
