Assistant Professor Mojtaba Hosseini Nasab presented his research to geology and petroleum science students

The guest from the Iran University of Science and Technology spoke about the role of foam surfactants in enhanced oil recovery.

In particular, Assistan Professor Hosseini Nasab touched on the properties of foam, its mobility in porous media, foam-related techniques of enhanced oil recovery in carbonate and seamy collectors, and other topics.

“I shared my personal work experience. We discussed the use of foam as an active agent in hydrocarbon recovery. Also of interest is the role of foam in petroleum engineering,” said the invited lecturer.

Naturally, the Assistant Professor was very interested in KFU’s research in foam reagents. The KFU team spoke about its pursuits in surfactants. Notably, the Center for Liquid Hydrocarbons has implemented over 10 research projects in surfactant and polymer testing and screening on oil reservoirs with industrial partners.

Dr Hosseini Nasab added that foam research has wide applications in the hydrocarbon industry.
