Negotiations held with Governor of Perm Krai Dmitry Makhonin

KFU joined Perm Scientific and Educational Center for Rational Subsoil Use.

On 25 January, Governor Makhonin arrived at Kazan University; he was accompanied by his colleagues from Perm Krai, Vice-Premier of Tatarstan Roman Shaykhutdinov, and Minister of Education and Science of Tatarstan Ilsur Khadiullin.

As Dmitry Makhonin noted, the Rational Subsoil Use Center will tackle problems of oil and gas industry, which is well developed in both Tatarstan and Perm Krai, “It’s a great honor for us to partner up with a federal university. I am convinced that the Perm Scientific and Educational Center and Kazan Federal University will have long-term and effective cooperation both in staff training and in scientific and technological initiatives.”

Interim Rector Dmitry Tayursky hopes that the Center will advance cooperation between the two provinces, “There is no doubt that it’s very important to increase network cooperation in all areas. As part of this Center, the University will use opportunities to develop its priority areas, one of which is oil refining and energy. In such a tight cooperation between universities, research centers and companies, we can solve even the most daunting tasks by picking the best experts and reaching common understanding in specific questions while utilizing resources from all the members of the consortium.”

The Interim Rector added that it’s crucial to involve students and PhD researchers so that they could fulfil their potential and contribute to the economy.
