Summer University ends with commendations and celebrations
This year’s project had its closing ceremony at the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication; it featured Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev and Director of the International Office Olga Vershinina.
“Summer University is memorable for the young people who come to us from different countries. I want to say that the atmosphere of the whole event is determined by the emotions and peculiarities brought by students from 13 countries. And, indeed, they are all very different, they all have different desires, aspirations for the future, but all of them were united by the two-week summer school. And we can see that tight-knit teams took shape here on certain educational tracks. By the way, there were six of them this year. I was at project presentations and saw how the guys supported each other, fought for victory, how they tried to best show the projects they developed during these two weeks,” emphasized the Vice-Rector in a conversation with the media.
This year 400 students from 13 countries took part in the project: Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, South Africa, Brazil, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and, of course, Russia.
The youngest participant was 18 years old, the oldest was 30, and most senior chaperone was 56.
Sunnat Salimjonov, a student from Uzbekistan, shared his impressions, “Participation in the Summer University project for me is first of all an opportunity to get acquainted with guys from other countries. I also wanted to come to Tatarstan for a long time. We saw the city, visited the Kazan Kremlin, walked along the embankment. What impressed me most of all in the capital was the architecture. It is incredible.”
Tamanno Bakhromova, a guest from Tajikistan, admitted that she did not even expect such a friendly atmosphere. According to her, together with other participants of the Summer University, they were developing a board game through which they could get to know each other’s culture.
“I chose the track Business Analytics 5.0: Design and Development of Information Panels with Yandex Data Lens (in English). As part of it, I was developing a project on tourism,” said a participant from Moscow Ruslan Babaev. “Thanks to the project I got acquainted with Kazan University, our classes were held in different buildings, the university is large, I am impressed. Summer University is a unique opportunity to find friends from different countries.”
During the closing ceremony, the project supervisors of each track were also commended.
