Foreign graduates awarded for academic and extracurricular excellence

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Yekaterina Turilova held the ceremony at the University’s History Museum on 4 July.

“First of all, I would like to sincerely thank you for choosing our university several years ago. For us, this is not only a great honor, but also a great responsibility, because the perception of Russian education and the image of Kazan Federal University in your countries depend on you. We sought to create conditions that would be not only interesting, comfortable and pleasant, but also a little difficult, because it is through overcoming difficulties that the most important lessons are learned and experience comes. Dare, dream and move forward for the benefit of your countries and Kazan University. I wish you good luck and new achievements,” the vice-rector said in her congratulatory speech.

Director of the International Office Olga Vershinina noted the uniqueness of each graduate, emphasizing their openness to new knowledge and the importance of cultural diversity.

“This year, more than a thousand students from other countries are graduating. We are proud not only of the graduates of the main educational programs, but also of the students of the Preparatory School, who also successfully completed their studies. More than 12 thousand foreign students from over 100 countries study at the university’s main campus in the capital of Tatarstan, as well as in foreign branches. Today, we welcomed the best of them and wished further success and new achievements. Kazan University is a large and friendly family, uniting representatives of different cultures and countries, who together develop the scientific community and strengthen international cooperation,” Olga Vershinina noted.

According to Yodgora Asfandiyarova, her studies were rich and diverse. Every day was filled with bright events and new impressions.

“I came from sunny Uzbekistan and chose Kazan Federal University because of the wide opportunities for foreign students. There are many different programs here, and the international relations program attracted me the most,” she shared.

Relatives and friends came to congratulate the best foreign graduates.

“Kazan University has become a second home for my granddaughter, where she was able to realize her potential and receive high-quality education. I am grateful to the teachers and all the staff of the university for their support and attention to students, especially foreign students. I am sure that the knowledge and experience gained here will help the students achieve great success in life and professional activities,” shared the grandmother of one of the alumni, Lyailya Romanova.
