KFU Student of the Year ceremony commends the best in 29 nominations

The event was held on 20 December.

First Vice-Rector Dmitry Tayursky greeted the audience on behalf of Rector Lenar Safin, “This prize takes account of the achievements made by KFU students. This includes studies, research, and extracurricular activities. Our student body is among the leaders of the youth movement in Russia.” He thanked the Department of Youth Policy and Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Moral Education Arif Mezhvedilov.

Among the winners for science and technology were:

Intellect of the Year in Humanities and Social Sciences – Polina Lekhnitskaya (senior, Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication);

Intellect of the Year in Natural Sciences, Physics and Mathematics – Maksim Zhernakov (fifth year, Institute of Chemistry);

Best Postgraduate in Humanities and Social Sciences – Ayaz Zakirov (Institute of Management, Economics and Finance);

Best Postgraduate in Natural Sciences, Physics and Mathematics – Eldar Davletshin (Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology);

Best PhD Student in Humanities and Social Sciences – Elvira Gimadieva (Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication);

Best PhD Student in Natural Sciences, Physics and Mathematics – Aleksey Kagilyov (Institute of Chemistry);

Best Tutor of Student Science Clubs – Alexander Kachmarzhik (Institute of Chemistry).

Special prizes were given to the Alter Ego Tourist Club, winner of the Student of the Year in Russia 2022 in the Student President nomination Ilzira Galimbikova, and winner of the Alfred Nobel Medal for Contributions to Inventiveness in Russia Antony Sverdrup.

Letters of appreciation were awarded by the Ministry of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan to Senior Psychologist Elvira Vorobyova and Associate Professor Nail Salikhov.

Among other winners were:

Best Student Club – Financial Club of KFU;

Best Activist – Anna Bochkaryova (senior, Faculty of Law);

Best Student Board of a Dormitory – Dorm #1, Student City;

Best Athlete – Sofya Petrova (junior, Naberezhnye Chelny Institute);

Best Sports Organizer – Daniyar Galeev (sophomore, Institute of Computational Mathematics and IT);

Best Student Initiative – CV Championship;

Best Student Entrepreneurship Project – Echpochmak, a souvenir brand;

Best Media Worker – Aliya Kulbarisova (junior, Institute of Social and Philosophical Sciences and Mass Communications);

Best Student Squad Worker – Aisylu Baituskarova (senior, Institute of Chemistry);

Best Student Squad – Kaleidoscope, a tutor squad;

Best International Student – Dilnoza Erkinova (fifth year, Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology);

Best Volunteer – Sofya Sisina (Institute of Psychology and Education);

Best Union Organizer – Kseniya Sokolova (senior, Institute of Social and Philosophical Sciences and Mass Communications);

Best Arts and Culture Organizer – Veronika Tsaryova (Institute of Psychology and Education);

Best Arts Collective – dance teams UVillDance and The Station of Svet;

Discovery of the Year – Taliya Kalimullina (sophomore, Institute of Social and Philosophical Sciences and Mass Communications);

Creative Personality of the Year – Ainaz Gazizov (Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics).

Finally, the Student of the Year Grand Prix went to Nataliya Shilova (Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication). She was awarded by last year’s triumphant Ammar Hussein.

“First and foremost, I want to thank my parents and mentors. A special gratitude goes to Kazan Federal University for always helping its students. Thanks to it, we become what we are,” said Shilova.
