University employees among winners of 50 Innovative Ideas of Tatarstan contest in 2023

A ceremony took place in Kazan featuring Rais (Governor) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

The competition is organized by the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan, Tatarstan Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Education and Science of Tatarstan.

Among the nominations were: Prospects; Educational Innovation; Innovation Start; Nano Impulse; Digital Economy; Patent of the Year; Youth Innovation Project; National Technological Initiative; and Social Innovation.

One of the winners of Innovation Start was Rezeda Ishkaeva, Research Associate of the Center for Pharmaceutics, with her project ‘Multifunctional derivative glutathione-based gel for the treatment of chronic wounds’.

“The innovation is the glutathione-derived molecule with therapeutic effects for skin regeneration. For more convenient treatment, a gel form is under development, and we expect a prototype next year,” says Ishkaeva.

Professor, Chief Research Associate of the Laboratory of Text Analytics Marina Solnyshkina won with her project ‘ProVerIntel: verbal intelligence as a reflection of personality development’.

“We have created an educational aggregator platform RuLingva, which brings together quite a few tools for assessing the complexity of texts. Today we have been awarded for the development of an automated verbal intelligence test. It can be used to assess the vocabulary of schoolchildren, students, and even scientists. No one has done this before us. First we developed a methodology, created a language corpus, then prepared frequency lists and created a verbal intelligence assessment test,” explains Dr Solnyshkina.

Freshman of the Institute of Chemistry Marsel Nuritdinov was commended for his technique of trace studies with fluorescent indicators.

Trace, or indicator, studies are research of real filtration flows of a productive oil reservoir by introducing labeled fluid into the injection well.

“I started this while still in high school. The project includes results of my studies of several fluorescent indicators. In the future, I plan to study other indicators and obtain a license for the developments,” elaborates the young scientist.
