Winners of #MyKFUlife/#МойКФУ grant contest announced

The winners and runners-up spoke about their vibrant and fulfilling lives at the university.
The contest was organized by the International Office and the Department of Information Policy.
Students from all institutes submitted their work to the jury. All contestants are authors of unique materials dedicated to their alma mater. Applications were accepted in several categories: Study and Science at KFU, Life in the Dormitory, Sports, Creativity, Cultural Events, and Personal Stories on the Theme ‘Why I Chose KFU”.
“Many international students are very active on social media, posting various content about their life in Kazan and their studies at the university. We wanted them to show all this not only to the jury, but also to each other, to share what they are doing. It was interesting to understand how the students perceive our university and how they reflect their everyday student life on social media,” said Timirkhan Alishev, Vice Rector for International Affairs.
Six winners were announced. Shokhista Ismailova received a diploma for the best video content about student life. Wang Chunyu was the author of the winning video report dedicated to studying. Yang Yixuan won the prize for the best photo content about her student dormitory.
Yadviga Turabova was awarded for popularizing social activities, and Zhang Ye received a diploma for the best literary material.
“The victory came as a surprise because I saw the other entries. Everyone did a great job! Special thanks to the International Office, because not all universities give foreign students as much attention and love as we do at Kazan Federal University,” Turabova shared her emotions.
The young woman came to Kazan from Georgia. In a conversation with journalists, she admitted that she actively follows the university’s competitions and interactive events and tries to participate in each of them. As her application, Turabova submitted a photo series taken in Georgian national costume and a video in which she talked about her student life.
Arraj Bilal won the special prize for creative content.
“The victory made me very happy and lifted my spirits before the exam session. I am very glad that I decided to participate. For the competition, I submitted a video about student life in a dormitory and its daily morning routine. I also showed my life, my studies at the university—numerous events, concerts, conferences,” said the winner.
The winners received commemorative gifts—branded university merchandise—and all participants were awarded diplomas.
In addition, the winners of the competition were awarded the title of KFU ambassador. This gives them the opportunity to participate in university events in this capacity, and their work will be promoted on the university’s official accounts.
