Andrey Keller introduced as Director of Naberezhnye Chelny Institute


The Rector of Kazan Federal University, Lenar Safin, visited Naberezhnye Chelny, where he officially introduced the new director of the institute to the staff.
Andrey Keller, a Russian scientist and Doctor of Technical Sciences specializing in improving the efficiency and safety of wheeled vehicles through digital modeling and design technologies, assumed that position.
The Rector called this event important for the entire staff, as the new director plays a key role in development, shaping the scientific and educational environment, and strengthening the university’s position.
“I am confident that many of you know Andrey Vladimirovich through his outstanding professional achievements. Moreover, he has substantial management experience, which will enable us to take our Naberezhnye Chelny Institute to a new level. His abilities and drive for development harmoniously align with our mission and goals, which will ensure a successful future for all of us,” noted Lenar Safin.
Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ, who was invited to the meeting, emphasized that having a strong and large university in the city is necessary for shaping “the right atmosphere.”
“The university must be of a worthy level, retain its existing staff, and attract talented specialists from outside to the region. Kazan Federal University is a forge of qualified personnel and one of our most important partners. KFU provides quality education, and without this, it’s impossible to achieve high results. I am confident that its Naberezhnye Chelny Institute under the new management will develop even more actively, and together we will be able to achieve all our goals.”
In his response, Andrey Keller admitted that it is a great honor for him to work at one of Russia’s leading universities.
“Kazan University is a global brand. Working here is very prestigious, and the scientific potential, infrastructure, and talented team inspire achievements,” he said. “I come from a family of automotive professionals, my core activity is connected with the automotive industry, and I have spent my entire life doing research in this field, as well as teaching. I very much hope that through joint efforts in this direction, we will be able to create an advanced center of education and science on the basis of the KFU branch, and that we will become one of the best engineering institutes in the country.”
Bio
Andrey Keller graduated with honors from Chelyabinsk Higher Military Automobile Engineering School named (1996). His major was Automobiles and Automotive Management.
He holds a Doctor of Technical Sciences degree (Armament and Military Equipment) and the academic title of Professor (in the Wheeled and Tracked Vehicles category).
For many years, Keller has been directly connected with the higher education system and science. He worked as Vice-Rector for Strategic Development at South Ural State University, Scientific Director of the Advanced Engineering School of Electric Transport at Moscow Polytechnic University, Acting Rector of MADI University (Moscow Automobile and Roads Institute), and Deputy Director of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation National Automobile Motor Institute (NAMI).
Since November 2022, he headed Sociocenter, the operator of the state program Priority 2030 and the federal project Advanced Engineering Schools under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.
He is the author of more than 300 scientific works and 54 patents. He created a number of unique technical concepts and technologies used in serial production by Russia’s largest machine-building corporations — KAMAZ, Ural Automobile Plant, Chelyabinsk Construction and Road Machinery, Heavy Machinery Plant LLC, and others.
He is an expert for the Higher Attestation Commission, Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian Science Citation Index, Innovation Assistance Foundation, and Directorate of Scientific and Technical Programs.
He is a member of expert councils: Russian Academy of Sciences Council on Transport, the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, ANO NTI Platform, and the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education. He is a member of the Association of Automotive Engineers of Russia (AAI) and the international organization SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers).
He is a laureate of the federal management competition Leaders of Russia in the Science specialization and a winner of many state and specialized awards.
