Association of International Students of Tatarstan to be headed by KFU

The decision was announced at a regular meeting of the Council of Rectors of Tatarstan.

The organization will comprise all the universities of the province and their student self-governance entities.

«The Association aims to foster social and athletic projects by and for international students. We have drafted a charter and an action plan for the Association and sent them for review to our partner universities and the Ministry of Education and Science of Tatarstan,» explained Rector Lenar Safin.

Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev added that Tatarstan is one of the most attractive Russian regions for international students, of which there are currently over 18,000 studying here. Their wellbeing is one of the priorities for the authorities.

«Supported by the government, the Association will help in academic, social and cultural integration of international students, as well as coordinate the efforts of universities and government agencies,» he concluded.
