Expansion of cooperation discussed with Coordinator General of COMSTECH Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary

He spoke with Rector Lenar Safin on 27 August.
Dr Choudhary offered to expand the number of COMSTECH scholarships for KFU to 25 a year.
“Kazan University is actively developing cooperation with the Islamic world and is a symbolic institution in this regard. That’s why this partnership is very important to us, and we want to expand and strengthen it in various areas,” he said.
He invited KFU representatives to join the First Organization of Islamic Cooperation Global Tech Fest in 2026. The event is to be focused on innovation and technological solutions offered by young scientists. Our university also plans to host one of the following forums.
Dr Safin emphasized that academic exchange and support for young scientists is a priority, so cooperation with OIC nations in this area is very important.
COMSTECH, the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation, is responsible for this particular domain of cooperation among OIC countries. KFU, being a part of the COMSTECH Excellence Consortium, implements a number of projects aimed at expanding Russia’s and Tatarstan’s links with Islamic countries.
COMSTECH’s academic mobility program for young researchers has already been launched at KFU. In addition, our university has many bilateral agreements with other members of the organization, including the Eurasian National University of Kazakhstan, Sultan Qaboos University (Oman), and others.
