Kazan University represented at Russian Education Tashkent 2024 expo
Over 50 Russian universities from 21 provinces are among the participants of the event in Uzbekistan.
The expo was organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Uzbekistan, the Rossotrudnichestvo Office in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Andrey Lanchikov, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Uzbekistan, Pavel Shevtsov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Irina Staroselskaya, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in Uzbekistan, and others made welcoming speeches at the opening ceremony on 21 September.
The visitors were able to find out the latest info about admissions, living arrangements and general situation at Russian universities. Those interested could also learn more about scholarship and grant opportunities provided by Russia to international students.
The delegation of Kazan Federal University included Ruslan Ulengov, Head of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Geographical and Environmental Education, Albina Borisova, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Admission Commission, Irina Mikhailova, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the Yelabuga Institute, Alesya Oshkina, Head of the Department of Organization of Admission of Applicants and Work with International Students, and other employees.
Ms Borisova expressed hope that the University’s participation in the expo become annual.
“The opening day of the exhibition was eventful and productive. Kazan and Kazan University are well known in Uzbekistan – schoolchildren and their parents approached our booth with interest. The most popular fields of study were pedagogy, medicine, information technology, international relations and psychology. Many of them asked questions regarding enrollment in the Jizzakh Branch,” said the deputy secretary.
KFU currently counts 2,300 Uzbekistani students, of which 500 are enrolled in the Jizzakh Branch in Uzbekistan and the others in the University’s Russian campuses in Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, and Yelabuga.
