KFU Catalyst Factory welcomes multi-university delegation

On June 26, a meeting with representatives of various universities in the capital of Tatarstan was held at the Kazan Federal University’s Catalyst Factory. Guests were briefed on its work and activities, as well as its infrastructure and production technologies.

Representatives from Kazan State Agrarian University, Innopolis University, Kazan National Research Technical University, and other universities were invited to the event.

Avgustina Boretskaya, Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Materials for Hydrogen Energy and Traditional Energy with a Low Carbon Footprint at the Institute of Chemistry, demonstrated samples of catalysts developed and implemented in industry and discussed the importance of the large-scale transfer of laboratory technologies. The guests were shown the pilot production line.

“In this plant, we not only scale up our own developments but also place orders and develop technologies and developments from other companies and institutes,” she said.

Lead Engineer Ruslan Ermolaev showed the guests the equipment needed to produce pilot and small-scale batches of catalysts and explained its basic operating principles.

The Catalyst Factory was established in 2026 as part of the Priority 2030 program. Its work is aimed at scaling up laboratory technologies and producing small-scale batches of petrochemical and oil refining catalysts.
