KFU visited by delegation of Al-Azhar University

President of AAU Salama Dawood and his colleagues are participating in the 4th Kazan Global Youth Summit.

They were welcomed by Rector Lenar Safin, who noted, in particular, “The cooperation between our two countries is growing in economics, trade, science, education, and culture. Ties between Tatarstan and Egypt are also strengthening, including those within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.”

He informed that KFU currently hosts 1,273 Egyptians students, mostly in the Cairo Branch.

“It’s a very comfortable mode of study for young people from Egypt and other countries of the Middle East and Africa. Egyptian students and scientists join our programs of academic mobility. Over 100 KFU students learn Arabic language. Our Al Khadara Center of Arabic Culture has been active for 20 years,” added the Rector.

Dr Dawood expressed his interest in cooperation with KFU, which will increase links between Russia and Egypt. He spoke about support measures for Russian students at his university, of which there about a hundred. He also suggested that KFU partake in opening a Russian language department at AAU.
