Meeting held between Rector Lenar Safin and Ambassador of Russia to Oman Oleg Levin

The meeting was joined by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev and Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences Danis Nurgaliev.

The sides discussed KFU’s cooperation with academic and industrial partners in the Sultanate and further opportunities, with a focus on petroleum science and industry.

The day before, KFU and Sultan Qaboos University signed a new research partnership agreement.

Furthermore, the Kazanian delegation spoke with representatives of Petroleum Development Oman and OQ, two major players in the local oil industry. Plans were drawn up for collaborations in enhanced oil recovery and oilfiled chemistry.

Daleel Petroleum, a longstanding partner of our University, is also going to continue its educational and research cooperation with KFU.

The Ambassador showed support for KFU’s initiatives, noting their active contribution to bilateral cooperation.

He reminded that the Republic of Tatarstan plans to open its trade and economic office in Oman, which opens new possibilities for the University to play a role in existing ties.

In conclusion, the interlocutors exchanged ideas on organizing Russian language, culture and science events for Omani students.
