Rector Lenar Safin meets with Head of the Department of Education of Shandong Chen Bichang

During the latter’s visit to our city, he and his team visited KFU.

The sides discussed ongoing cooperation, including the China-Russia University of Advanced Technology (CRUTech).

The Rector thanked the Chinese colleagues for their support in this matter and noted its importance for the University.

Among higher education institutions in Shandong, many are KFU’s partners, including East China Petroleum University, Qingdao University of Technology, Shandong Normal University, Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Shandong University. SHU and KFU, in particular, are joint coordinators of CRUTech. The partners are working on launching joint programs in engineering and economics, as well a laboratory of addtive technology.

«We are working on advancing Chinese language teaching in Tatarstan and Russian language teaching in Shandong. In that regard, we plan to open a network of specialized school grades, training courses, and preparatory pre-university courses. KFU has had such experience in many countries,» informed Dr Safin.

Chen Bichang noted the significance of this area for bilateral cooperation. He emphasized the special importance of language exchange for the promotion of youth links and cultural ties. He also expressed his support for CRUTech’s initiative of summer schools and workshops in both countries.

Dr Chen showed his special interest in establishing such joint programs as new materials, chemistry, AI, software engineering, and medicine.
