Rector Lenar Safin meets with Vice-President of Public Affairs at Samsung Electronics Sergey Pevnev

The delegation visited KFU on 21 March.

The meeting was joined by Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation and Innovation Dmitry Pashin, Director of the Institute of IT and Intelligent Systems Mikhail Abramsky, Director of the Institute of AI, Robotics and System Engineering Dmitry Chikrin, and others.

The sides discussed expanding cooperation in mobile telephony, Internet of Things, AI, and Big Data.

Lenar Safin noted, “We are interested in continuing and strengthening our ties. I am sure it can add value to our programs. Apart from our relevant institutes, we also have secondary schools in Kazan and Yelabuga, which, I am sure, can also propose ideas for further cooperation.”

Mr Pevnev added that KFU has long proven to be a reliable partner, and his visit aims to improve that partnership.

The two sides started collaborating in 2012, and the next year saw the signing of a cooperation agreement. A classroom was equipped at KFU’s IT Lyceum. IoT Samsung Academy Laboratory was opened in 2018.
