Rector Lenar Safin toured MGIMO University

On 16th October, the Rector joined a delegation headed by Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, in visiting the famed alma mater of thousands of Russian diplomats and international relations experts.
The guests were welcomed Rector Anatoly Torkunov. During the meeting, the parties discussed educational development and collaboration with the country’s leading universities. The cooperation between KFU and MGIMO is being implemented through the Inter-university Career Guidance Academic Mobility Program. This program aims to ensure globally competitive leadership in knowledge and expertise in international relations, international law, world politics and economics, Asian studies, and African studies.
As part of the joint project, scientific, cultural, career, and educational events are held at the universities, involving students, faculty, and administration.
Furthermore, this has fostered friendly relations between the largest student organizations—the MGIMO Student Union and the Kazan Federal University Student Council—enabling students to exchange expertise and experience.
One of the main topics of discussion today was the development of artificial intelligence.
Accompanied by Torkunov, the delegation members learned about the work of MGIMO’s Neuro Marketing Laboratory, which was created to integrate modern technologies into both classical and new educational programs, as well as to attract new talent, external partners, and clients to the university.
Overall, the Laboratory’s modern equipment enables the study of human reactions to analyze the perception of advertising images and predict consumer behavior. A demonstration of generative models and a supercomputer was also given.
Finally, Rustam Minnikhanov and other delegates met with MGIMO students, including students from Tatarstan.
