Rector Lenar Safin visit Belarus and discusses further steps in developing the Union State Network University of High Technology
During the trip, the rector met with Minister of Education of Belarus Andrey Ivanets.
Dr Safin reported on the progress made by USNUHT in 2026, noting the steady growth of participants and first results.
Apart from the founders, KFU and Belarus State Technical University, eight more instittuions were accepted into USNUHT. So far, two network bachelor’s programs have been launched, Ecology and Nature Management, and Program Engineering. Academic exchanges within the programs are set to start in September 2027.
Apart from that, teacher exchange is also planned to begin next year.
Lenar Safin informed that KFU is going to host the 15th Forum of Engineering and Technology Universities on November 9 — 12, 2026. The forum is going to include a discussion on research activities of the universities of the Union State. More of them are expected to join USNUHT during the event.
Advanced engineering schools, a special educational format promoted in Russia since 2022, will also be discussed. Currently, our university plans to apply for a new AES, tentatively called Engineering of Intelligent Products and Systems. For this new consortium, consultations are underway with Minsk Automobile Plant, Minsk Tractor Plant, and Minsk Motor Plant.
Dr Ivanets proposed that Belarusian-Russian University of Mogilyov be included in this AES project. He supported the idea of involving Belarusian State Technical University in the project as well.
Later, Rector Safin visited Belarusian National Technical University and Belarusian National Technological University, and met with their rectors, Sergey Kharitonchik and Sergey Kasperovich. USNUHT was the main topic of discussion at this meeting as well.
Dr Safin commented, «The Network University’s mission is preparing staff for technological sovereignty. Together, we combine our experience to teach, develop science, and offer technological solutions.»
Furthermore, the Technical University presented its Center for Competencies in Digital Machine Manufacturing, Center for Competencies of BELAZ, and new labs.
As for the talks with Technological University, the two rectors outlined basic roadmap points for 2027.
