Signing ceremony for the agreement establishing the Russian-Chinese Consortium for Teacher Education took place at Northeast Normal University in Changchun
The consortium brings together Russian higher education institutions, including Moscow State University, HSE University, Baltic Federal University, Siberian Federal University, Southern Federal University, North Caucasus Federal University, Kabardino-Balkarian State University, North Ossetian State University, Vyatka State University, Pskov State University, and our university.
The People’s Republic of China is represented by institutions such as Liaoning Normal University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Jilin University, Dalian University of Technology, Changchun Normal University, Jilin Normal University, Baicheng Normal University, Zhejiang Normal University, and Harbin Normal University.
This marks the first large-scale alliance between Russian and Chinese universities aimed at conducting joint research in teacher education. Its primary objective is to compare and refine teacher training systems, launch collaborative research initiatives, produce joint publications, and foster academic mobility.
During the meeting, Vice-Rector for International Affairs Timirkhan Alishev and Vice-President of Northeast Normal University Wei Min outlined key priority areas for the consortium’s development, including networked collaborative research among member institutions, the establishment of a dedicated digital coordination platform, and invitations for Chinese scholars to attend the 2027 Summer School in Kazan. In turn, their Chinese counterparts invited faculty members and students from Kazan Federal University to take part in internship and exchange programs at Northeast Normal University.
Initial outcomes of the bilateral cooperation will be presented during the 13th International Forum on Teacher Education (IFTE), scheduled to be held on May 27–28, 2027, at Kazan Federal University.
The signing ceremony was also attended by key Kazan Federal University representatives, including Aidar Kalimullin, Director of the Institute of Psychology and Education; Almaz Galimov, Director of the KFU Jizzakh Branch; and faculty members from the Institute of Psychology and Education.
